Psychological Consultation

Psychological consultation is designed for individuals needing greater understanding in family, marital, parenting, professional issues, or support in coping with difficult changes or specific areas of life. It is the first form of assistance in recognizing the problems we face in our daily lives. The first meeting with a psychologist is referred to as a consultation, regardless of the difficulties reported and their duration. A conversation with a specialist allows individuals to share the life, family, or emotional challenges they are currently experiencing. The purpose of the consultation is to understand the patient’s difficulties and propose the best method for coping with them. Typically, diagnosing the individual situation and needs of the patient takes several consultation sessions. The duration of an individual consultation is approximately 50 to 60 minutes.

Individual Psychotherapy

Long-term therapy is not time-restricted; there is no predetermined end to the therapy, which is established during the course of treatment between you and the therapist. The aim of therapy is to improve your functioning in life through a broader understanding of your behaviors, emerging emotions, relationships with yourself, and the people around you. The therapist is not a guide but accompanies you in the process of noticing and understanding your emotions and patterns in your life that lead to certain behaviors, decisions, and events, causing specific problems and difficulties that are the source of your suffering. A session lasts 50 minutes, and meetings occur once or twice a week.

Couples and Marriage Therapy

Conflicts in a relationship are natural. Constructive resolution of these conflicts often strengthens the relationship, teaches acceptance of diversity, and allows partners to get to know each other better. However, sometimes couples experience situations where conflicts are difficult to resolve, and the relationship becomes a source of dissatisfaction and suffering for both parties. We conduct couples therapy oriented in systemic and psychodynamic approaches. Our couple therapy specialists have many years of experience, professional qualifications, and a developed therapeutic practice, adapting their methods to the individual needs and expectations of their clients. Therapeutic sessions are led by one or two therapists. Depending on the patient's needs, sessions last 50 or 90 minutes and occur on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Therapy for Children and Adolescents

A child is a unique client in many ways. The first visit always takes place without the child's presence so that the therapist can gather information about how the parents perceive the child's difficulties, what resources they notice in the child, the child's psychological and physical development, and the family situation. The developing identity of a young person and dilemmas associated with the adolescence period can lead to behaviors that, from a parent's perspective, may be concerning but often resolve themselves over time. Younger children often require shorter forms of psychological support. It is important to seek help if a child is experiencing excessive sadness, has low energy levels, faces difficulties in relationships with peers, exhibits self-harming behaviors such as self-injury, uses psychoactive substances, or struggles to cope with a crisis situation (such as the loss of a loved one, parental separation, or changing schools).

Psychological Support in Crisis Situations

This form of psychological support is recommended for individuals experiencing various types of crises, struggling with difficult, burdensome, and often sudden events in their lives. Crisis situations arise unexpectedly and lead to a disruption of the previously established sense of safety, stability, and the deterioration of emotional well-being.
